Dave throws his signature 22g Harrows Chizzy Darts. His current 2026 setup is the Series 4 range, featuring a 90% tungsten parallel barrel with a specialist gold titanium nitride coating and sandblasted grip for maximum consistency.

Dave has recorded 15 perfect nine-dart legs in professional PDC competition. This includes a memorable televised nine-darter against Peter Wright at the Grand Slam of Darts, cementing his reputation as one of the most clinical scorers in the game.

The nickname comes from his incredible ability to hit maximum scores. For nine years, Dave held the record for the most 180s hit in a single Players Championship Finals weekend (38), and he consistently ranks in the top three players globally for 180s hit per leg.

In major televised events, Dave walks on to the classic "Dizzy" by Vic Reeves and The Wonder Stuff. On the European Tour, he often treats the fans to "Johnny Däpp" by Dominik de Leon, which has become a massive hit with the crowds in Germany and beyond.

To date, Dave has secured 33 professional titles. This impressive haul includes 26 PDC Pro Tour titles and 8 European Tour titles, including his most recent successes in the 2024 and 2025 campaigns.

While Dave has yet to lift a televised PDC Major trophy, he is considered one of the greatest players never to have done so. He has reached six major televised finals, including the World Grand Prix, the Grand Slam of Darts, and the Masters.

Outside of darts, Dave is a dedicated Liverpool FC supporter and spends a significant amount of his downtime on the golf course. He is a very capable golfer with a single-figure handicap, often competing in pro-am events during the off-season.
